Drive-by Truckers, Stockholm march 12th

It's Monday and the sun is shining! Maybe, maybe we're on our way towards spring now. I certainly hope so. But fuck Monday, let's talk about yesterday instead. Drive-by Truckers played at Kägelbanan here in Stockholm and let me just say YES!! I've been waiting on these guys to come here for years and years and now when they finally did, I was far far far away from disappointed. They put on a really great show and really showed their fans that they are BACK and here to stay. 

I gotta admit though that I was very surprised by the setlist. I think they played 6 of my favorite songs back to back first thing they did. They played awesomely from start to finish, but the set didn't get stronger towards the end. It got slightly weaker. All and all though they kicked some major ass. The show was sold out so the conclusion is that they've been missed for sure!! It was a very very good night, that's for damn sure! 

I was a bit annoyed by the sound guy though. He completely dropped the ball on the sound when the opening act Ellen Sundberg did her set. Ellen and her band did a killer performance as always, but the sound wasn't good. After half the set one of the guitars got a major but non lasting feedback issue and the sound of the microphones just flew out the window. When a sound guy can manage to pay the music respect it's just a shame. It shouldn't matter if it's the opening act playing or the main act. Music is music man!!
